The Ability Counts league is a format developed for players with a disability who want to play football.

To encourage more players to participate we have established 'pan-disability' groups that allow players with different disabilities to play as one team. The only players not considered suitable for pan-disability are blind and wheelchair users that can create important safety issues, and these are catered for separately.

The pan-disability squads at Bury include players with visual impairments, downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, learning difficulties and hearing impairments

Bury FC has 3 pan-disability teams, and caters for all levels of ability. We have two adult teams and one under 16 team. We have one adult team entered in the Manchester FA 9v9 Championship and two teams one adult and the under 16 team entered in the Lancashire FA 7v7 leagues.

Each team trains regulalry, with quality coaching from experienced staff. Every player receives official Bury training kit and is expected to give as much commitment as anybody representing Bury's first team.

Anybody interested in playing for any of the teams would be made very welcome, regardless of ability. Contact robert.carlisle@buryfc-community or 0161 797 5423 for full details.
