The Prince's Trust Get Started With; FOOTBALL

Bury FC Community Trust deliver the Get Started With; FOOTBALL initiative on behalf of the Princes Trust. This is a very high profile project targeting youths aged 16 + and providing them with many valuable transferable skills, allowing them to tackle the next stage of their life with self confidence and motivation.

The course involves the younsters achieving the accreditations of JFO and 1st Aid as well as participating in workshops around healthy lifestyles, smoking, drugs, sexual awareness and undertaking a physical MOT just as a professional footballer would do on a regular basis.

Connexions are also closely involved with this project in recruiting and identifying younsters to undertake the courses which last for a full week, Monday - Friday.

In addition St.Luke's Primary school and the cluster of Bury East schools also assist in helping us to deliver the course by being available for sessions and tournaments which the youths must deliver and manage as part of the accreditation process.
